Abstract
Depicts a crowd preparing for a sati on the steps in front a temple. First appeared in Captain Grindlay's Scenery, costumes and architecture (1830), with caption "Preparation for a suttee, or, The immolation of a Hindoo widow," engraved by R.G. Reeve.
